I hear a lot of talk in the Body of Christ these days
about wanting to "finish well". If that it our goal, then it is
necessary to reassess ourselves in the light of God's Word.
According to the Apostle Paul, we are in a race and on
the same team. There are four words that come to my mind that will help us
focus if we are going to run well:
1-COMMUNICATE. We need to communicate honestly about
where we are at in the race. Twice the
Apostle Paul says, "I have not arrived yet". The same is true of
everyone of us. None of us have
crossed the finish line.
2-CONCENTRATE. In Hebrews 2:2 we read, "looking unto
Jesus, the author and finisher of our
faith...". Focus on Jesus. Don't take your eyes off of Him!
3-CONSECRATE. Devote everything you have to getting
there! Stay on the race track. Go the distance. Be
faithful. Don't quit, instead commit!
4-CONCERN. Keep track of those who are running with you.
They are headed toward the same goal. Run
alongside them and encourage them to stick with you.
Please take a moment right now and read Philippians
3:12-14 and recommit yourself to finishing the race.
