Notice things like the beauty of creation, the sound of
birds singing, the smile of a spouse or friend, the smell and taste of good
food, the pleasure of a good book or song. And so much more. When we work at
noticing, we begin to "see" more, to appreciate more, and to enjoy
more.

THE GIFT OF NOTICING
I want to encourage you to do what I am disciplining
myself to do, and that is, to cultivate the "Gift of noticing". In
other words, to look for God's presence and grace in the everyday things we
experience but don't make the connection to God.

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY, DAD
This past week I found myself reviewing some of the blessings the Lord has given me in you. You have been my father and pastor, a wise counselor, a disciplining hand. You've been my friend. You've been there to listen, love, advise, direct, and teach...and HUG!
From you I've learned a life of balance. You taught me to
stand on conviction. You taught me to be
honest, kind, and giving. Thank you for everything you've taught me.
I love you,
Ron

Summer Strength & Refreshing
Allow me to offer you some encouragement and instruction by
reminding you of things we all know:
1- PRAY IN THE SPIRIT
"This is
the refreshing..." Isaiah 28:12 refers to the promise of God's addressing
the need of His people
through "stammering lips and another tongue". The application of this
text is found in Jude
20: "Building
yourselves up on your most holy faith, praying in the Holy
Spirit".
2-SURRENDER TO THE JOY OF THE LORD
"The joy
of the Lord is your strength..." Nehemiah 8:10. This joy came from reading
the Scriptures, and
it evoked deep worship from the people. Our joy is not in our circumstance, but in the
promise of God.
3-LIVE IN GOD'S PRESENCE
"Repent...so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of
the Lord". Acts 3:19. An honest and
forthright response to our human weakness allows God's presence and strength to be
manifest in us,
bringing refreshing in our lives.
4-DECLARE GOD'S VICTORY
"The Lord
is the strength of my life; of whom shall I be afraid?" Psalm 27:1. Our God
is on our side!
More importantly, we're on His side.
